Director of Research Services

KaraKara Douma joined the firm in March of 2014, and has experience in state government, political campaigns, and public policy and survey research. She conducts research for a diverse set of clientele including state and local governments, school districts, non-profits and state associations, hospitals, financial institutions, the Michigan Republican Party, Senate Republican Campaign Committee and individual candidates.

As Director of Research Services, Douma oversees the survey research operations including the implementation and analysis of MRG’s survey research and public opinion polls. In addition to client consultations, she will develop survey instruments and manage day-to-day data collection.

Douma comes to MRG with a wealth of survey and polling knowledge. She previously held positions in the Michigan State Senate and Public Sector Consultants and worked for some of the largest and most respected Republican firms in the country as an independent contractor during key election cycles. This includes managing the polling for the Michigan Senate Republican Campaign Committee in 1998 and 2002.

Douma earned a bachelor of arts in Political Science with Honor from Michigan State University, and was a Patricia Roberts Harris Graduate Fellow in Public Administration at MSU where she received the Pi Alpha Alpha award from The National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.
